REIDS ROD PARTS Model A-style Quick Change Rear Cross member was developed exclusively for SO-CAL, this Model A transverse leaf spring rear cross member has beautifully stamped sides welded to a center strip and finished to the highest level of quality. The cross member, which faithfully follows Model A dimensions, is used in the SO-CAL Step-Boxed™ :32 chassis as well as the new SO-CAL Model A chassis.

A rolling step boxed pinched-nose buggy spring frame.

As cast 4’ dropped I-beam axle and polished S/S front end.
Vega cross-steering.
SO-CAL Front Brakes.
9” Currie rear end, complete new drum brakes, buggy sprung suspension with ladder bars.

A factory built steel Brookville body.

The body is fit and shimmed to the frame.
The steel firewall is recessed and filled to fit a Small Block Chevy or Ford.
The doors are hung, fit and gapped as is the deck lid.
Custom made marine plywood front floor boards and the rear floor is modified to clear the 9’ rear end.
The body has been re-enforced with a tubular x-member behind the seat and has a custom made quarter panel turnbuckle system for added strength to the sides of the body.

1928-1931 FORD CAR OR TRUCK CHASSIS

From a bare frame to a complete chassis, REIDS ROD PARTS can provide you with a chassis that will fit your needs. The ´28-´31 Frame is built from 2" x 4" x .125 tubing, making it superior to a stock boxed frame.

NEW 1932 FORD So-Cal CHASSIS

All SO-CAL Step-Boxed™ ’32 chassis use American Stamping rails for strength and authenticity. All frames are numbered and tagged for added value and include the following:

The strength of an un ground fillet weld on the boxing plates.

Recessed boxing plates which increase clearance for:

	Brake lines		Exhaust systems
	Fuel lines		Steering components
	Power cables

A “swept C” in the rear which minimizes the stress of the cut and spreads the load over a greater area.

A universal trans mount that cleverly accommodates TH350, TH400, 700R4 transmissions as well as 4- or 5-speed manuals.

Front cross member angled at 7 degrees for correct caster.

All SO-CAL Step-Boxed™ frames include the following:

NOTE: Due to all the variations between stock and reproduction bodies SO-CAL Step-Boxed™ ’32 chassis come without body mounting holes—we felt it best to leave the hole positioning up to the builder. However, strategically placed under the top rail are welded-in bosses that can be drilled and tapped for body mounting once the position of the body has been finalized in relation to the firewall and the radiator/grille shell.

The 1933-´34 frames feature full-length boxed rails with rectangular X-members for strength and rigidity. Available with a 1" dropped stock style front cross member or an IFS front cross member and your choice of one of three different rear cross member
